Brief History:
Marlborough, Connecticut was established from Colchester, Hebron, and Glastonbury in 1803. Like many small towns, it quickly became a mill town and by the mid 1800s was known throughout Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, and Massachusetts as Marlborough Mills.
 
Unique History
             
Marlborough has several unique historic characteristics. The northern section of Marlborough contains the remains of what is believed to be Sadler's Ordinary, Connecticut second known 'Inn' of the 1600s. Marlborough is also the home of several inventors.The town was also the home of Mary Hall, Connecticut's first female attorney.

Publications
             
In 1904, Mary Hall published a book titled, Marlborough, Connecticut 1736-1903, which detailed Marlborough's history.

A more recent book has been released that captures Marlborough's history dating back to the 1600s up to today. The book is titled, Reflections Into Marlborough's History: The Biography of a Small Connecticut Town by Romano Ghirlanda - www.marlboroughhistory.com.
