The tombstone or burial site of Lucinda Coleman
Lucinda Coleman was the first woman to be sent to the Wethersfield State Prison for murder. According to court documents, she was convicted of second-degree murder for poisoning her husband Niles Coleman in January of 1851 in the town of Marlborough, Connecticut. She was sent to prison in September of 1851 but released in 1869. Her whereabouts thereafter are unknown. If you have any information that will lead to her burial site, please contact us.
